Homemade Eye Mask

Skin's Best Friend introduce

Homemade eye masks are easy to make and extremely inexpensive. Although many eye products are costly and contain man-made ingredients, the most healthy eye treatments are all-natural and can most likely be found in your kitchen. From milk to potatoes, these 100 percent natural homemade eye masks will stimulate the skin around the eyes, taking years off your appearance.

Cucumber Eye Mask

  • A cucumber eye mask is one of the best homemade options for preventing puffy eyes and dark circles. Make a paste out of 1/2 of a cucumber. Mix to a smooth consistency, and place in the refrigerator to harden and chill. After letting the mix chill for 20 minutes, apply evenly with the fingertips, across the under-eye, and eyelids. Do not get any of the eye mask into the eyes; if this happens, rinse thoroughly with cold water. Let the eye mask absorb into the eye area for about 20 minutes, and rinse the entire face with cool water afterward. This will leave the skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Potato Eye Mask

  • Fresh potato slices are also a great ingredient when making homemade eye masks. As with the cucumber mask, grate 1/2 of a potato in a blender or food processor, until it reaches a smooth, easy-to-apply consistency. Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes, then apply evenly under and around the eyes. This will release excess fluid build-up around the eyes that leads to eye puffiness and also leave the eyes feeling invigorated and refreshed.

Milk Mask

  • Milk is another natural ingredient that is inexpensive and highly effective in promoting healthy skin around the eyes. To turn milk into an eye mask that can be applied to the skin without becoming runny, mix 1/4 cup whole milk (other milk percentages will work, too), with 4 tbsp. of baking soda. Mix with a fork or whisk until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency, and chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Apply evenly over and around the eyes, let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse the face with cool water. The end result will be a fresh, glowing face, with bright, healthy eyes.
